It’s Your Time To Shine

Matthew 5:14
You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.

God has made you His light in the world. Light shines and pushes away darkness. So, even when things seem scary or confusing, you don’t have to be afraid—Shine, because you’re God’s light!

The Bible says, “Arise, shine; for your light has come…” (Isaiah 60:1). This means it’s your time to shine. When you believe God’s Word, do what is right, and show kindness, you shine brighter.

People will see Jesus in you and learn about Him. So, be bold and let your words and actions show His love everywhere you go.

Scripture Reading-
Isaiah 60:1-3

1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.
2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising

Let Us Pray / Say This

I am the light of the world. God’s glory is seen in me and through me. I bring hope, peace, and joy to my school, family, and community. Hallelujah!

Lessons and Practical Application

Part A — Lessons

  • You are God’s light. God has made you His light in the world. You don’t have to try to become light, because He already made you light!
  • Light beats darkness. Light pushes darkness away. So when things feel scary or confusing, you don’t have to be afraid. You can shine!
  • It’s your time to shine. The Bible says, “Arise, shine; for your light has come.” You don’t have to wait until you’re older. Your time is now.
  • You shine brighter as you live God’s Word. Believing God’s Word, doing what is right, and showing kindness all make your light shine brighter.
  • Your light helps others see Jesus. When people see how you act and what you say, they see Jesus in you and learn about Him.

Part B — Practical Application

  • Say it out loud: Each morning, say, “I am the light of the world!” before you leave home or start your day.
  • Choose to do what is right: At school or at play, when you have to choose between right and wrong, choose right. That’s shining!
  • Show kindness today: Share your snack, help a classmate, or say something kind to someone who looks sad.
  • Believe God’s Word: Read today’s Scripture, Isaiah 60:1-3, with a parent or guardian and thank God that His light is on you.
  • Be bold in love: Let your words and actions show Jesus’ love at home, at school, and in your neighbourhood.
